Would you like to join our News Network? Membership is free and simply means we will keep you informed of all local FT news and events. News updates are sent out by e-mail or paper, so you can sign up to either and will not miss a thing.

You can of course sign up for a more active role as we are always looking for more volunteers to organise and run local events. All details from Helen.

Kit Kat biscuits to go Fairtrade in the new year 
Kit Kat, Britain's biggest-selling chocolate biscuit, will bear the Fairtrade logo from mid-January 2010.

Recognition for FT Bristol
In recognition of how Bristol is one of the leading Fairtrade cities in the UK, they have been invited to 10 Downing St to mark the Fairtrade Foundation's 15th anniversary. Only a few campaigners have been invited so it is great that Bristol is one of them!

Building a Better Bristol - Awards
On 1st October, Building a Better Bristol are holding their Awards Ceremony at St Stephens church - this year the awards are focussing on fair trading and the Spirit of Good Business. To celebrate there will be a Fairtrade market and music in the grounds of St Stephens all afternoon followed by the ceremony at 6pm. Hannah Reed, Fairtrade towns Co-ordinator at the Fairtrade Foundation is the keynote speaker, so do come if you can.

My Big Fairtrade Adventure
The flyer for a series of films focussing on Human Trafficking is now available. As part of Unchosen's film festival they are offering schools a chance to see 'My Big Fairtrade Adventure' followed by a talk from our Fairtrade Network. We will also be holding Fairtrade stalls at the venue (St Stephens church again!) each film evening

Fairtrade South Gloucestershire!
We are delighted to report that South Gloucestershire now has Fairtrade status! Thank you everyone for your hard work – the South Gloucestershire Fairtrade Network, all those councillors who have championed it – to all those of you who’ve promoted it, stood at various events talking to the public, working in schools, etc. Thank you so much!
