Ms Fatima Lopez Fatima has been raised in a family of coffee farmers. She has benefited from the Fairtrade premium scholarships from Prodecoop for further education now she is the head coffee taster at Prodecoop and will be a judge in the prestigious Nicaraguan national coffee quality awards this year: ‘Nicaraguan Cup of Excellence’. - Prodecoop won this cup a number of times. “Through our long-term relationship with Cafédirect we invested in coffee quality. The co-op is training young people to work in coffee. I am now the head coffee taster. This means I taste the coffees to check the quality and run a training programme for young people. It’s creating opportunities for the next generation, like me…”. |
